Wheel torque distribution optimization of four-wheel independent-drive electric vehicle for energy efficient driving

Abstract With the help of several in-wheel motors, four-wheel independent-drive electric vehicle (4WIDEV) has tremendous potential to improve performance. Except for theme stability enhancement during past two decades, energy saving topic becomes more attractive recently. However, it is difficult achieve and economy performance simultaneously. Given commonly used control method rigid yaw rate tracking may limit 4WIDEV in cornering. Therefore, be different from previous studies which often focus on a sole target, this paper, driving management strategy based multi-objective online optimization torque distribution proposed includes weighted error into its parameterized objectives besides drive system efficiency, tire slip losses wheel ripple. Meanwhile, better coordination situation, fuzzy logic adopted dynamically adjust weight objective indexes function. Then, particle swarm algorithm solve Finally, energy-efficient verified built Simulink CarSim co-simulation model. The results show that effective than average offline strategy.
